On December 1, 2023, enjoy historic downtown Monticello, Florida on our community's most festive night of the year!

It's the ideal evening for families and individuals to come and enjoy our hospitality. Experience our Christmas Light Parade, Tree Lighting, Visits with Santa, PLUS shopping, dining, entertainment, and more! It's sure to be a special evening with a designated kid's area, live music, local vendors, and welcoming shops.

Visit Santa

Civic groups, county businesses, and other local organizations parade through Monticello amidst a friendly competition for "best in show" categories, all while escorting Santa to Dogwood St. to greet visitors and meet with children.

Don't miss the splendor and sparkle of the season as we light the night just prior to visits with Santa. The main lighting features a 20 ft high tree adorned with white lights. After the lighting, it illuminates both vendors and visitors on Dogwood Street!

Ho, Ho, Ho, Y'all! Kids (and kids at heart) can enjoy a visit with Santa downtown on Dogwood Street just after the Tree Lighting. Our North Pole nook will be ready to receive wish lists and special Santa requests!

Each year, Monticello Christmas invites talented bands, artists and local groups to perform. Look forward to dynamic acts on stage (and street) at the corner of Dogwood St. and

N. Jefferson St. downtown.

Dogwood St. lights the night! From tree lighting to seeing Santa, Dogwood St. is the hub for Holiday in Monticello. Vendors line the street offering original art, crafts, edibles and more. It's the place to stroll, scroll, and enjoy!

A festive-meets-fun zone for children ages 3-12, our Kids Village offers a variety of engaging holiday crafts and activities that reflect the spirit of the season while letting each child's creativity shine.

Festival of Trees

New in 2023

Step into a winter wonderland at the inaugural “Festival of Trees." Nestled in the heart of Monticello, just behind the Historic Wirick-Simmons House, this event promises to be full of Christmas Magic.

As you enter, you'll be greeted by the twinkling lights and the holiday spirit. The Wirick-Simmons garden will be transformed into a breathtaking spectacle, with each tree uniquely decorated for the holiday season. From traditional red and green themes to whimsical and modern interpretations, every tree tells a unique story of joy, love, and celebration. Each tree will be decorated by local businesses, organizations and members of the community, all in the theme of their choice.

Stroll along the winding paths, surrounded by the gentle glow of fairy lights and the soft rustling of leaves underfoot. Admire the creativity and artistry of the tree decorators, who have poured their hearts into crafting a tapestry of seasonal splendor.
